Curriculum

Literacy
  • Wit & Wisdom (K-8th)
For daily language arts instruction at each grade level, students will engage in Wit & Wisdom curriculum. Wit & Wisdom focuses on a topic essential for building background knowledge, vocabulary, and writing skills. Students are exposed to works of literature, informational text, and art of the highest quality. Essential topics strategically reoccur, empowering students to deepen understanding of core knowledge across grades K—8.
  • Heggerty (PreK-2)
For daily instruction in phonemic awareness, students in grades pre-kindergarten through 2nd grade will engage in Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Curriculum. Heggerty Phonemic Awareness is a curriculum focused on daily phonemic awareness, which is the ability to identify and manipulate individual sounds in spoken words.
  • Fundations (PreK-2)
For daily instruction in phonics, students in grades pre-kindergarten through 2nd grade will engage in Fundations. Fundations is a multi-sensory and systematic phonics, spelling, and handwriting program.
  • Amplify-DIBELS (K-5th)
Students in kindergarten through 5th grade will start the school year by being an assessment  called DIBELS. The DIBELS Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your student's needs.
  • Amplify Reading (K-5th)
Amplify Reading, is a supplemental reading curriculum. The games in Amplify Reading provide students with the opportunity to practice and build proficiency in literacy skills within an engaging story that rewards students for their efforts.
  • i-Ready (6-8th)
Students in 6th through 8th grade will start the school year by taking an assessment  called i-Ready. The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your student's needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question.  For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions.  The purpose of this is not to give your student a score or grade, but instead to determine how best to support your student's learning.  The i-Ready Diagnostic helps our teachers to create small groups and personalize instruction to meet the needs of students.
